Google’s digital gaming service Stadia is the latest initiative to be shelved as the business attempts to slash expenses. Google vice president, Phil Harrison, said in a blog post last week that the gaming service, which debuted in 2019 “hasnt gained the traction with users that we expected,”adding “Weve made the difficult decision to begin winding down our Stadia streaming service.” The closure of Stadia is CEO Sundar Pichai’s most recent cost-cutting measure after promising to increase corporate efficiency by 20%. Alphabet’s stock price has decreased 34% so far in 2022.
