A massive winter storm system is dropping snow, rain and wintry mix across the country this week.
Satellite imagery shared by the Cooperative Institute for Research in the Atmosphere at Colorado State University shows the large storm system “trekking from the Rockies to the Midwest” on Thursday.
The National Weather Service said the heavy snow across the Upper Great Lakes would come to an end Friday, sending snow and wintry mix to Upstate New York and New England.
Meanwhile, the agency said a colder airmass and more snow are expected in southern Utah, northern Arizona and into the Southern Rockies on Friday. Heavy snow is possible for portions of the High Plains late Friday and Saturday.
